Here at Human Risks, we’ve been closely watching AI developments and potential practical applications for the Security Risk Management industry for a number of years.
Our focus is on making security risk management smarter. So as we’ve been looking forward in our development roadmap for the Human Risks platform, it’s been abundantly clear to us for some time that AI is set to play an increasing role in the way we work with customers to unlock efficiency and scalability across security risk management workflows.
However, implementation of AI comes with its own distinct risks and challenges, which is why we made a conscious decision from day one to take a measured approach. As with every change we make to the Human Risks platform, our focus is on enabling people to manage risk in a more effective way – rather than removing critical thinking from the security risk management process.
Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of our new AI Threat Suggestion Model: a powerful addon to our existing threat suggestion tools which are already used by teams on nearly 7000 sites around the world.
This announcement has been in the works for some time. Our model and AI architecture has been built from the ground up specifically for the Human Risks platform and our customers. Although there are easier routes to deploying AI using external models, security is and always will be at the heart of our approach – both for our baseline methodology, and the way we manage strategic data.
This is also the first announcement of many to come. Our Customer Success team is currently working with existing Human Risks customers to test the new AI Threat Suggestion Engine before a wider release in the coming months. And as we look to embed practical AI tools further across the Human Risks platform, we have a number of other exciting projects in the pipeline for later this year.
If you would like to schedule a call with us to discuss the new functionality, our approach to practical AI tools, or for a general update on the Human Risks platform, feel free to reach out to the team via the link below. We’re looking forward to sharing more in future updates, and as always – having direct input on how we implement these to drive more effective security risk management outcomes.
AI Threat Suggestions: How The Model Works
Contextual threat and treatment suggestions within the risk assessment process have been a core feature of the Human Risks Platform since 2017.
The feature has been deployed by our customers in a number of different ways – supporting effective assessments with pre-defined assessment criteria, driving a unified risk taxonomy across large operating footprints, and ensuring minimum assessment requirements are met across critical assets.
With the launch of our new AI Threat Suggestion Engine, we’ve taken each of these points even further, driving even more intelligence and automation behind the way threat suggestions are deployed across site portfolios.
The model is bespoke, designed on the same principle as the entire Human Risks platform – taking any data feed, placing it in the context of a specific risk assessment, and turning the information into practical suggestions for site teams. To do this, it uses key relevant information such as your existing risk assessments, incident reports, external intelligence and OSINT data to estimate the probability of threats materialising. The resulting output is then translated into your organisation’s own risk taxonomy in the Human Risks platform, and recommend for consideration as part of the assessment process.
In short, our new AI Engine is built to give Security Risk Managers access to their own bespoke model for intelligent threat suggestions across their organisation – to reduce the learning curve for teams to complete accurate assessments and speed up the sharing of critical insights.
It’s important to note that alongside the new AI feature, centrally managed threat and treatment templates are here to stay. It’s essential that subject matter expert teams have the ability to easily provide clear guidance on what needs to be considered for specific sites and assets in the security risk assessment process, and influence the AI Suggestion outcomes. That’s why we’ve made the choice to integrate AI Threat Suggestions alongside the threat suggestion functionality you already know. Adding value to expert guidance in context, rather than replacing it.
Where to From Here?
