As the festive season approaches, the question of how to thank our clients and stakeholders came up. This year we have decided to give those who have supported Human Risks something meaningful.
We got in touch with the charity Walking for Water, who partner with EcoWater Solution SL Ltd.
Our combined goal was to create two boreholes to supply safe and clean water to those in need.
The Human Risks’ sponsored wells are located in Masuri Village in the Western Area Rural District, Sierra Leone.
“Access to safe drinking water should not be a luxury but a basic human right”
– Benson Kandeh, CEO of EcoWater Solution.
The overall project will provide 7 boreholes to improve the standard of living of the locals. Currently 1,800 villagers rely on the nearby swamp as their main water source. This contaminated water can cause severe illness. The borehole well project supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Current water source
Human Risks have sponsored the construction of two wells in the Mutasa (8°28’20.5″N 12°12’26.7″W) and Church Yard (8°28’11.2″N 12°12’24.9″W) sections of the village. These two new, clean water sources will benefit approximately 500 villagers. The boreholes are expected to be ready for the local community to use on the 21st of December.
We asked the local children if they would enjoy painting pictures on the well in their community? They loved this idea and chose images that meant something to them.
We hope that this unusual gift will bring wellbeing and joy to the villagers, our clients and stakeholders alike. Thank you to all of our valued clients, who helped to make this project possible.
